In the Byzantine Rite, Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday and Holy Wednesday are dedicated to the Nymphios, Christ the Bridegroom, even though Holy Monday is covered up by the Feast of the Evangelization of the Theotokos this year.
Thou didst endure that which is contrary to Thyself without ceasing to be Thyself, O Nymphios. Thou didst endure rejection without ceasing to be the Bridegroom as a sacrifice for us, Thy Bride, and by Thy wounds we are healed. We and our pleasures are mortal and pass away, but Divine Love is immortal and cannot be contained by death. Glory to Thy Holy Resurrection O Lord! May we come to share in Thy Resurrection by participating in Thy Passion, O Christ.
