|The Holy Face according to the Holy Shroud|
|Statue of Ecce Homo in |
Ponta Delgada, Portugal
The former statue is of course Christ's actual face (albeit limp because He's dead in that image) and while the latter isn't a perfect copy of Our Blessed Lord's Face, the differences are minor. The fact that His cheeks are puffier in the second is expected because He's still alive in the second. For centuries, passionate Azoreans have been saying that the statue of Santo Cristo is the most exact replica of Christ's actual face. It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn close.
