Christ loves the Church as a man loves His Bride. Just as a man is willing to forgive His beloved, no matter how big her offence, so too Christ wishes to forgive us, no matter how big the offence. A man is impatient to forgive his beloved bride, because he just wants to be with her. He wants to live his life with her and have her companionship. All she has to do is repent. The man is impatient to forgive. He is just waiting for her to repent and abandon her sin against him. All this is merely a reflection of Christ's love for His Bride the Church. Christ's marriage with the Church is the original, all other sacramental marriages are based on that. Christ is impatient to forgive us. He is just waiting for us to repent and abandon our sins. He wants to be with us and have our companionship. He wants to accompany us in everything we do in our everyday lives and He wants us to keep Him company in the Eucharist. He loves it when we make a Holy Hour. (Tomorrow is Holy Thursday. Make a Holy Hour tomorrow night.) He loves it when we take an hour out of our day (or night) to be with Him. He loves us and wants to be with us. That is why we have the Eucharist. That is what we celebrate tomorrow: the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Priesthood that makes the Holy Eucharist present.
